first gives the basics of magic. You'll learn what is needed to make any magic
work -- including techniques such as symbolism, visualization, and working with
power. Cunningham also shares the importance of divination both as a part of
magic and in its own right. The second section describes how to work with the
magical elements - Air, Earth, Fire and Water - in order to improve your life.
For Earth you will learn how to do healing and protection magic. For Air you
will learn simple spells to vanquish fear, make decisions, and raise winds. In
the chapter on Fire, you will learn some divination techniques, healing methods,
and two ways to make an easy, anti-fire charm. In the water chapter you will
learn about divination, healing, and more. The third section of this book is
on natural magic. This is just brimming with various types of magic that you can
easily do. There are chapters on magic using stones and trees, knots and
candles, mirrors and the sea. Need to break a bad habit? Did you know you can use candles to do
a divination? It's true! You simply let the melted wax drip into a container of
cold water. Then you look for symbolism in the drops of wax. The book contains
full instructions on how to do this, including what the patterns may mean.
You'll also learn another system that uses melted wax from blocks or sheets.
Both methods are easy to use and can help to either answer questions or give you
a glimpse into your future. Did you know you can use a piece of oak (or
other wood) to heal? It's true! Just light it and when it has been reduced to
glowing pieces of charcoal, pick up one of the pieces with a pair of tongs or a
shovel and throw it immediately into a stream or pot of cold water where it will
sizzle and pop. As it does, visualize the disease leaving the body of the
afflicted person. Repeat this three more times. You'll find full instructions
