How To Read the Tarot

There are two types of Tarot card readers. One type is strictly intuitive, using symbols on the cards as guides. The other uses a system of memorized meanings. The first type can give wonderful readings. But what if you have to give a reading and your intuition isn't "on" at that time? The reading is just not as effective. They could use a system to fall back on. The second type of reader can also give excellent readings and always has a system to rely on. But a system can be limiting.

Here is how it works. In order to be able to memorize the meanings of every card of the Tarot deck, all you have to do is memorize 26 words or short phrases. One for each of the 22 Major Arcana cards and one for each of the four suits.
For example, the keyword for the High Priestess is "I know." The keywords for the suit of Wands are "work and social activity." Therefore, the meaning of the two of Wands is "I know my work and social activities." You can expand this to mean "I have the world in my hands and can be successful. I use my knowledge in social interaction and in business. I desire balance in both areas of life." You could probably come up with lots of other meanings depending upon the questions asked and the position of the card in the spread.
If the card is reversed it means, "I don't know my work or my place in society." Again, it can be expanded to mean, "Unbalanced actions at work or in relationships with others. Business know-how is lacking. Little confidence in abilities or skills. Fear of failure."

This entire system is fully described and explained. You will be able to give accurate Tarot readings in as little as one week! Once you know these secrets it will be surprisingly easy. Of course, the keyword system is just the starting point. You can add to this as much as you like by using your intuition and interpreting symbols. Practice with the Tarot will improve your intuition, and the list of the meanings of Tarot symbols in this book will get you started on symbolism.
